As part of Scripps Health’s $2.6 billion master plan that includes construction of new hospitals and retrofitting of existing hospitals, their existing Scripps Health Mercy hospital in Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego will be replaced by a new acute care hospital. The new Mercy hospital will consist of three levels below grade and 12 levels above, with 710,000 square feet under roof. Estimated construction completion is 2027. The new Production Kitchen for room service style patient feeding for a 396-bed acute care hospital. On-site catering to be provided by the Production Kitchen. The full service onsite Café with limited support kitchen adjacent to support minimum 164 seat dining space.
