The newly constructed Mathematics and Technology Building houses the new Culinary Arts Department and includes extensive daylighting and views into more than 90 percent of the spaces. The culinary-arts department includes several instructional kitchens: Restaurant, Production, Skills, Baking, Pastry, Multi-Use, and Demonstration. The average kitchen size is 1,760 square feet, with the four main Kitchen Labs measuring more than 2,000 square feet each. All kitchens have TV monitors for students to get a close-up view of faculty members as they demonstrate culinary techniques. Fully operational glass walls allow for a visual connection to the exterior. The facility also includes a functional student-run restaurant, lecture hall/demonstration kitchen, and a bakery counter serving artisan breads and pastries that is open to the public.
